about

"The body's dead but it won’t stop talking” kind of summarises what this tracks about. In an age where artists get tattoos on them, brandishing their distaste for posthumous releases (Anderson Paak), artists bodies talk for as long as the company wants them too, even if it’s a puppeted corpse.
The other side of the track speaks to how modern fanbases are sold seemingly infinite access to artists through parasocial relationships and the damage that does. From the lack of artist protection, to the psychological detriment on the fans.

lyrics

Malaise
Malform
Malfunction
Pet dog

Shoe gaze
Wet floors
My baby
My god

Amnesia
My fault
Amnesia
Not My fault

Hide body
Dig hole
Tooth aching
Free fall

Cut down
Freak out
Holy roller

Black ice
Bleack town
My sharona

Big piggy
Next to me
Cherry cola

Well what else is a dog to do but willfully roll over
You can
Get to it
Break fluid
Dumb, deaf, stupid
High horse
Boot it
Deep breaths
Long dead

Lifes a beach but there is mines on it
The body's dead but it wont stop talking
Now tell me baby, who’s it gonna be
When the ones who left you buried are the ones you believed

Well thats a lot out there man
Sure hope you can float
In that battered tin can

Your idols they don’t know you and you really shouldn’t think
That they owe you more than the product that you willfully drink
The stream of social conciousness that you’re conditioned to believe
Is but smoke and mirrors and shattered glass from bear trap companies

And they got you and they’ll bleed you for every bit of glee
That leads to pennies in their pocket and a yacht in belize
The engine crammed with silk and glitter from merchandise decrees
And the artist that you love is left to drown out at sea

The 27 club is romantic to psychopaths
A pretty picture made of heroin and body parts
The meat is flogged on tshirts that benefit the breeders of the poison that you put in your veins fool!

Lifes a beach but there is mines on it
The body's dead but it wont stop talking
You’ll still sell me when i’m dead and it shows, that if it goes on the stage then it goes when i goes
Well
The bodies dead but it wont stop
The bodies dead but it wont stop
Now tell me baby
Who’s it gonna be
On that horse that you keep beating when it just wants to be free
Good god
